Get a rebate of up to $ 1 500 for the purchase of a vehicle

REWARD'S DESCRIPTION

In exchange of your old car (1998 and older) with Clear the air! and following the purchase of a new car * (2008 and newer), you will receive a cash back (between $ 600 and $ 1,500) adjusted to the unemitted CO2 of your new vehicle compared to your old car emissions (calculation based on a use of 16,000 km / year).

Please take note that as of May 1st 2012, cash back will be calculated on the basis of the following parameters:

This table applies only to participants whose applications is completed at the dealer on or after May 1st 2012. All applications completed before May 1st 2012 will be calculated with previous parameters.

If your new vehicle is eligible, the Clear The Air!’s discount could be combined with the Quebec government’s discount for the purchase or lease of a hybrid or electric car. Read the note at the bottom of this page.

* CRITERIA FOR NEW VEHICLE

The new vehicle must:

• Be four years old or less (2008 and newer)
• Be purchased from a participating Toyota or Honda dealer in Quebec.
• Emit less CO2 (greenhouse gas) than the previous
• Consume less than 12 liters per 100 kilometers
  
  

CALCULATE THE REBATE YOU WOULD RECEIVE

Clear The Air! has developed a calculator to help you calculate and compare the reduction of CO2 between your old vehicle and a newer model. It will help you determinate, as an indication, the difference in CO2 emissions and the cash back (up to $ 1,500) you would be receiving.

CO2 REDUCTION CALCULATIONS

1. Enter the characteristics of your old car (1998 and older);
2. Choose a newer model (2008 and newer);
3. Get the discount amount you would receive ; CO2 emissions for 3 years (tonnes); the annual fuel consumption (liters) and the annual cost of gasoline($).

Note that there is no rebate on the purchase of a car producing more CO2 than the older vehicle.

To get a rebate for the purchase of your next vehicle, you must choose a vehicle of four years old or less in a participating Toyota or Honda dealer.

The new vehicle must emit less CO2 (greenhouse gas) than the last one.

Procedure

Once you have chosen your new car, register HERE or go to your dealer.

Only the dealer can complete your registration, confirming the model of the new vehicle you purchase.  When you go to your dealer to purchase the vehicle. Bring with you :

1. Your insurance certificate showing that your old car to recycle has been insured continuously since 6 (six) months prior to registration;
2. The registration certificate of your old vehicle to recycle showing that it is registered continuously since 6 (six) months prior to registration;

The dealer will make copies and send them to "Clear the Air!" with the following papers:

1. Your registration confirmation signed acknowledging that you have read the program’s objectives and all of its eligibility criterias;
2. The copy of the invoice for your replacement vehicle, more energy efficient, giving all required informations (name, address, identification number of the participant; model year, model, vehicle’s NIV, amount of the rebate, etc.).

Your cash back will be mailed by the Quebec Association of struggle against air pollution (AQLPA), Program Manager of Clear The Air!, within a period of one (1) month or less. From the amount you will receive, $ 300 will come from your dealer, while the rest will come from the Clear the Air! program.

In addition to the cash back, get the following rewards

By participating in "Clear The Air", you will get, in addition to the reward chosen:

1. Tax receipts;
2. A membership card of the Quebec Association of struggle against air pollution (AQLPA), Program Manager, valid for one year;
3. Discount with Communauto (optional);
4. Subscribe to Allo Stop (optional).

Tax credit for purchasing or leasing a new green vehicle

In addition of receiving the offer of Clear the Air!, you could get extra credit from the Quebec’s government which offers a tax credit for the purchase or lease of a vehicle with a low fuel consumption or a fully electric car. If an eligible person acquire or lease for a long-term period (minimum 12 continuous months) a recognized green vehicle after before January 1st 2012, it may claim a refundable tax credit. Get all the information on the Québec’s income tax site for the year 2011.
