Quebecers
were praised yesterday for getting rid of their old clunkers by the
thousands last year and opting for cleaner, newer vehicles, car pooling,
bicycles, electric scooters and public transit.
About 20,000
Quebecers recycled older vehicles over the past year, removing the
equivalent of 380,000 more recently built vehicles from the road, said
officials from the Association québécoise de lutte contre la pollution
atmosphérique (AQLPA) as part of yesterday's Clean Air Day festivities.
